Salix udensis 'Sekka' - Japanese Fantail or Dragon
willow
aka S. sachalinensis
'Sekka' is widely cultivated in Japan, both as
an ornamental shrub and for the flower market.
In summer, the glossy green compound leaves on
the many horizontally sprawling branches resemble
a huge tropical shrub. Autumn brings a rich yellow
colour to the leaves and in winter, the snow outlines
a very distinct shape not found in any other willows.
Much loved by bees!
