Salix cinerea 'Tricolor' - Variegated Grey Sallow

'Tricolor' will perform best with a light trim in autumn. Small in size and easily managed, Tricolor's decorative foliage starts out as a rusty red colour fading to marbled pink and is an excellent choice for many locations.

Description: medium branching shrub; 3-6 m (10-20'); leaves dull green, obovate (I bet you'd like to know what that means!: egg-shaped and flat, with the narrow end attached to the stalk) with marble pink and cream variegation

Ideal conditions: full sun to part shade; natural habitats are fens and marshes; will tolerate drier poor soil; responds to regular watering; will grow in acid soil; good for mine reclamation sites

Coldest zone: 4 (find your zone; further info on plant hardiness)
