Native to the western states of North America (east of
the Cascade mountains) - from Canada to Mexico. This makes
it well-suited for hot dry landscapes and 'no water' gardens.
Attractive when dormant and brown in the summer.
Bluebunch wheatgrass requires only 9" of precipitation
annually.
