Phalaris arundinacea 'Feesey' - Ribbon Grass

Never plant Ribbon grass in a border unless well contained below the ground. This plant, sometimes sold under the name 'Strawberries and Cream', is the least invasive of the Ribbon grasses, but that is not saying much.

Does well in a container. Try growing it directly in your pond, in shallow water, or in a bog container.

Description: cool season; aggressive spreader
Foliage is variegated green and white (more white than green); medium blade width; 60-80 cm (24-32") in height
Flowers similar to 'Karl Foerster' (but sparser); blooms June through August; 80-100 cm (32-40") tall

Ideal conditions: full sun to light shade; moist fertile to wet soil; moderately drought tolerant.
